Seven easy ways to save money

If you’re someone who finds it tricky to save money, you’ve come to the right place. Check out these easy ways to save money

It’s easy to spend money. The cost of early morning coffees, lunchtime treats, weekly train tickets, and gym memberships all add up. And that’s before we’ve even touched on the topic of rent and bills. When it feels like your outgoings are outweighing your incomings, the ‘I really need to save money’ panic will kick in. Saving money can be simple. Getting started is the biggest challenge. To help you, we’ve put together a list of some of the easiest ways to save money.

1. Track your spending

Keeping track of your outgoings is a great place to start. Separate your spends into sections, such as hobbies or household, and work out where you can pull back on spending.

2. Set yourself a budget

How much money do you want to save per month? Having an end goal will make you more determined. At the end of the day, if you know you’re approaching your limit, you’re less likely to treat yourself to another Nando’s.

3. Become a voucher king or queen

Saving money doesn’t mean you need to say no to every plan that comes your way. We all need a date night every now and then. Do your research into the latest deals and offers available near you, so you can enjoy a night on the town at a much cheaper price.

4. Cheaper groceries

When doing your weekly food shop, take a look in the reduced food section. Or try out the basics section in your local supermarket. You’re paying for the brand 90% of the time anyway.

5. Make the switch

Swapping your regular light bulbs is an easy way to save money. Energy-saving light bulbs are typically more expensive than their traditional counterparts but that’s because you get over 100% more hours with them, making them a much more savvy choice.

6. An additional income

Finding a way to generate extra income at the same time as saving is a great way to make sure your bank account is in good health. There are several easy ways to make money that don’t require you to work 16-hour days, sacrifice your spare time, or even leave the comfort of your own home.

7. Compare prices

If you’re on the hunt for a new insurance policy, whether it be for your car or home, make sure you take advantage of the price comparison websites.

Once you’ve jumped over the hurdle of getting started, saving money can be pretty easy, especially with our tips. Give our suggestions a try and you could meet your financial goals in no time.
